Passport to Forever touches hearts and supports IAC

The Cooperative Society and the Junior Co-Operative Society presented the sixth annual Passport to Forever Luncheon and Children's Fashion Show Thursday, October 12, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. The event raised more than $94,000 for the International Adoption Center at Cincinnati Children's.
More than 470 guests attended the luncheon and learned how the IAC has made an impact in our local community and around the world. In the past seven years, the IAC has assisted more than 2,000 adoptive families from 42 states and six countries with their adoption of children born in 41 countries.
Speaker Kristina Dodson, who was adopted from Russia in 1994, a month before her 16th birthday, shared her experiences about how adoption changed her life. As a program coordinator for Families Thru International Adoption, Kristina now works to create forever families for orphans around the globe.
Finally, the stage came to life as more than 35 internationally adopted children modeled clothes from The Children's Place.
Proceeds from the 2006 Passport to Forever will help support the IAC's mission of family-centered services, continue to raise the standard of care for internationally adopted children and begin to expand to new areas of post-adoption support.
