Share your tips for traveling
When it comes to international adoption, there are innumerable things to consider. You can't help but address the obvious emotional considerations, but what about the many practical and logistical issues with traveling that might help make the process go more smoothly? If you have adopted internationally, your observations and "tips" learned in your experience might benefit others. For example, is there something you wish you had known before you traveled? Maybe you were unprepared for the poor condition of the orphanage or not being able to get familiar foods or drinks. Did you experience language and communication issues? Was safety an issue? What surprised you most about your trip?
If you would like to share your observations with others, please submit them for possible publication in an upcoming newsletter. Don't forget to let us know from which country you adopted your child. Email Barbee Sjödahl at barbee.sjodahl@cchmc.org.
