Kudos to Karen Sparling

By Shelli Giess

Karen Sparling is an executive director in the Finance Department at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. She and her husband, Paul, are also the parents of Natalie and Kenneth who were born in Ufa, Russia. Natalie and Kenneth joined the Sparling family in January 2003 at the ages of 22 months and 14 months respectively.

Karen and Paul are on the International Adoption Center (IAC) Advisory Board. Karen uses her financial experience to help the IAC staff with business planning so they can focus on helping families. She is also responsible for launching this newsletter.

Karen also finds time to talk about international adoption (specifically Russian adoption) with other families. She explains that she and Paul are "strong advocates of international adoption and hope our assistance will help other orphaned children find a loving forever family too." With volunteers like Karen, the IAC can continue its mission to help create and sustain forever families for orphans worldwide.
