Post-Adoption Medical Evaluation
The International Adoption Center (IAC) at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center offers a medical evaluation for newly adopted children. The medical evaluation includes a comprehensive medical, developmental and nutritional assessment, baseline laboratory tests, screening for infectious diseases and immunization recommendations.
The IAC staff also can offer ongoing consultation to the doctors who will routinely care for these children.
As part of a comprehensive health-care center, the IAC can readily call on experts in gastroenterology, neurology, genetics, psychology, occupational and physical therapy, as well as other specialties as needed.
