International Patient Care Services for Global Child Health

The International Patient Care program offers special services related to global child health for patients and their families who are coming from outside the United States for care at Cincinnati Children's.

The International Patient Care staff at Cincinnati Children's can help make the entire experience an easier one for patients, their families and their referring physicians. We can help with:

  • Providing you with information about  services, program and physicians at Cincinnati Children's
  • Locating the right physician to meet the patient's specific needs
  • Obtaining a proposed treatment plan, which will identify potential diagnostic and treatment procedures, surgery, expected length of the visit, possible consultations, follow-up care and more
  • Scheduling appointments outlined in the treatment plan
  • Arranging for interpreter services in most languages, as well as sign and Braille for those with hearing and sight disabilities
  • Assisting with medical documentation required for a visa application
  • Connecting our visitors with Guest Services to assist with Cincinnati lodging, transportation and other services
  • Estimating the expenses for implementing the treatment plan
  • Working with each family to help set up payment plans

International Education Program

Cincinnati Children's has one of the largest and best pediatric training and research programs in the United States. The International Education program seeks to establish international partnerships for excellence in pediatric education and training through:  

  • Partnerships with international academic institutions seeking to develop innovative and high quality pediatric education
  • Development of a variety of international distance learning experiences in order to share state of the art knowledge and expertise
  • Development of opportunities for international professional exchanges, training and collaborative research
  • Building international partnerships with academic and non-academic local health care providers to promote excellence in health care
  • Fostering development of organizational structures that promote delivery of high-quality, efficient, family-centered and safe health care
