Exceptional Care for Urgent Needs

When your child needs special care for a critical health condition, they can be in no better hands than those of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Cincinnati Children’s.

Our skilled team of healthcare professionals are experts in caring for children under serious or life-threatening circumstances. They are trained to deal with critical health situations and have the skills to quickly assess and treat your child to achieve the best possible outcome.

A stay in the PICU can be a frightening and stressful experience. Many of the terms, procedures and pieces of equipment may be unfamiliar which can add to the stress of your child being critically ill. We will do whatever we can to help reduce this stress and uncertainty. Our family-centered care philosophy ensures that you are kept up-to-date about your child’s condition and receive the information you need to make informed choices about their care.

Note for Patients and Families

Once in the PICU, more detailed information regarding your stay will be available on the Get Well Network, which can be found on the main screen of your in-room TV.
