Lead Clinic

Overview

The faculty and staff at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center support efforts to end childhood lead poisoning. The faculty of the Lead Clinic at Cincinnati Children's assists in coordinating:

  • Lead poisoning education
  • Lead poisoning research
  • Clinical management of lead poisoned children at the medical center

The Lead Clinic is a multidisciplinary effort and is headed by Medical Director Adam Spanier, MD, MPH. The physicians of the lead clinic work closely with local health departments, social workers and consultants to help minimize the effects of lead poisoning in children.

The overall goal of the Lead Clinic is to facilitate collaboration between scientists, health care providers and families to help end childhood lead poisoning.
