Liver Transplantation: A Long History of Excellent Outcomes

The Liver Transplant Program is a vital component of the Pediatric Liver Care Center at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. William Balistreri, MD, and Frederick Ryckman, MD, founded the Pediatric Liver Care Center in 1986 and remain active members of the Liver Transplant Team.

The entire team has a long history of working together, which is critical when dealing with the complexities of liver disease and liver transplantation. This "history" between our team members is unique among pediatric liver transplant programs.

The Liver Care Center team has performed more than 300 transplants since its inception. Their combined expertise and approach to care have produced excellent outcomes for families and physicians from across the country.
