Health Status

As of December 2006, 68% of families considered their child's perceived health status "Excellent" or "Very Good."

Every liver transplant patient of the Pediatric Liver Care Center at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center has an annual post-transplant follow-up visit. During these annual visits, the Liver Care Center team asks each patient and caregiver to rate the child's perceived health status.

Rating Scale

Patients and families rate the transplant recipient's health status using the following scale:

  • Excellent
  • Very Good
  • Good
  • Fair
  • Poor
