Specially Trained Transport Team
The
Transport Team at Cincinnati Children's offers a state-of-the-art mobile intensive care unit that allows for the transport of critically ill newborn and pediatric patients. In-house teams are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to allow rapid response for medical transports from local, regional, national and international referral sites.
Team members are specially trained in newborn and pediatric intensive care, emergency and transport medicine, flight physiology and trauma. They use specialized equipment allowing them to provide the highest level of quality care to the critically ill child during transport.
When you
call the Pediatric Liver Care Center with a referral, the gastroenterologist on call will determine if the Transport Team services are needed and will arrange transport when necessary.
Physician Priority Link
Physician Priority Link is a telephone hotline provided by Cincinnati Children's specifically for our referred physicians. It's available 24 hours a day, seven days a week; please call 513-636-7997 or 1-888-636-7997.
Simply ask for the attending gastroenterologist on call. A gastroenterologist or hepatic surgeon from the Pediatric Liver Care Center will be available to take your call within two minutes.
Our specially trained Physician Priority Link operators can put you in contact with a specialist you need regarding referrals and consultations, as well as provide you with quick access to the full spectrum of specialists and services at Cincinnati Children's.
Pediatric Liver Care Center Facilities
Cincinnati Children's is committed to providing pediatric liver patients with a facility that offers the latest technological advances, as well as a family-friendly environment. Our newly renovated Pediatric Liver Care Center offers:
- Eleven beds dedicated to patients with complex liver disease, including liver transplant patients
- A "transition to home" room where families stay in a home-like setting to become familiar with the care delivery required at home
- Workspace for laptop computers
- Microwave ovens, washers and dryers
- Showers and pullout beds for parents
- A separate treatment room for inpatient care

Parent Resources
Guest Services assists families from outside the Greater Cincinnati area in making travel and lodging arrangements when they bring a child to Cincinnati Children's for care.
Guest Services representatives provide help with discounts on lodging, airfare and rental cars, and transportation to and within Cincinnati.
Online Pediatric Liver Care Portal
The Pediatric Liver Care Center provides families and physicians with online access to important health information about their child. Access is provided through a secure internet site called the Liver Care Portal.
