Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center asks children and families who live more than one hour away from the Cincinnati area or those who have limited transportation to stay in the Cincinnati area during the period of the liver transplant and after the initial discharge from the hospital.
The stay usually lasts one to two weeks, depending upon your child's recovery, and will allow you to be close to the hospital.
Families traveling to Cincinnati to Cincinnati Children's can receive assistance from Guest Services. The Liver Transplant Team suggests that your child stay at the Ronald McDonald House or the Vernon Manor Hotel in Cincinnati.
