Overview
The Medical Staff Services Department at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center coordinates the credentialing and / or privileging process for more than 1,300 members of the Cincinnati Children's medical staff. The department follows credentialing standards mandated by the federal government, state government and regulatory agencies such as JCAHO, National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and the American Accreditation HealthCare Commission / URAC. Delegated credentialing activities for TriState Child Health Services (PHO) are provided by the department as well.
Medical Staff Services offers physician orientation for new or returning medical staff members and provides medical staff verification information in response to requests from all third parties. In addition, the department manages meeting support services for all the Medical Executive Committee and its 10 committees and subcommittees, as well as the Cincinnati Pediatric Society, a social organization that assists the medical center in fulfilling its mission.
