Diagnostic Tests Available
The Fatty Acid Oxidation (FAO) Defects Diagnostic Testing Center at Cincinnati Children's offers diagnostic testing of patients suspected of having a FAO defect. Clinical genetic testing is performed by the Molecular Genetics Laboratory and clinical biochemical testing by the Biochemical Genetics / Mass Spectrometry, Cytogenetics and Special Chemistry Laboratories. Research studies are performed in the laboratory of Arnold Strauss, MD.

Each clinical test result includes a detailed interpretation of the genetic findings, the clinical significance of the result and specific recommendations for clinical management and additional testing, if warranted. Research findings may not be available and/or released.
