Overview
The Cincinnati Perinatal Outreach Project (CPOP) at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center provides professional education and consultative services to perinatal health care providers in the Greater Cincinnati area.
The CPOP is part of a regionalized system under The Regional Perinatal Outreach Education Program, a state-wide program. The CPOP represents Perinatal Region One in the State of Ohio, and is funded by a grant from the Ohio Department of Health.
Improving Perinatal Health is the primary goal of CPOP and the group has four strategies to achieve that goal:
- Develop integrated health care delivery programs to optimize systems of perinatal care
- Educate providers of perinatal care to improve perinatal health
- Identify preventable morbidity and mortality through utilization of the Regional Perinatal Database
- Monitor healthcare delivery trends and alert regional health professionals to emerging issues
