Neuropsychology Program

Overview

Children are referred to the Neuropsychology Program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center for neurologically based cognitive and behavior problems. Areas assessed may include:

  • Intellectual and academic functioning
  • Language
  • Visual-spatial skills
  • Memory
  • Attention
  • Processing speed
  • Executive functioning
  • Sensorimotor functioning
  • Behavioral and emotional adjustment

Referrals are received from a variety of sites, both within and outside Cincinnati Children's. Our most common referrals are for children with a variety of medical diagnosis, including but not limited to:

  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Perinatal stroke
  • Sickle cell disease
  • Epilepsy
  • Neurosurgical interventions
  • Brain tumors
  • Other genetic and metabolic disorders
