Overview
The Limb Reconstruction Center at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of limb deformities (bone or joint deformities) and limb deficiencies (such as arm or leg length differences) in children of all ages.
We bring together specialists in:
- Orthopaedic surgery
- Physical therapy
- Occupational therapy
- Rehabilitation
- Prosthetics / orthotics
Our team works together to provide complete medical care and address the growth and functional concerns of these children.
Patients from all over the United States and nearly 30 other countries have been treated here since these services were first offered in 1977. Cincinnati Children's was one of the first centers in the country to perform the internationally known DeBastiani Limb Lengthening procedure. Our doctors have established an international reputation in this area.
Our team conducts ongoing research aimed at finding new and improved ways to treat and manage these conditions, including surgical and non-surgical options. Results of our research efforts have been presented at national meetings.
