Residential Treatment Program

Welcome

Theresa Broerman, Director, Residential Treatment Program.

Welcome to the College Hill Campus residential treatment program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. We have developed this online resource to assist you in making what can be a very difficult decision. Parents who have experienced our programming encouraged us to create this informational site in order to provide support to others in similar situations. It is our hope that you will find answers to your questions and concerns.

Cincinnati Children's opened its first Psychiatric Inpatient Unit(s) in 1983. Over the past 20 years, as inpatient hospitalizations have dramatically increased, we have recognized the need to provide extended care. Cincinnati Children's responded by creating a residential treatment program that evolved into the College Hill Campus in December 2002. Currently we have three residential units for youth ages 9-18, with a total capacity of 33 beds. The average length of stay is three months; however, the individual nature of our treatment can lead to stays from one to twelve months in length.

We take pride in the services we offer and the positive outcomes youth experience in their lives upon completion of treatment. Our facility is fortunate to have a multifaceted team of professionals who provide creative therapies and recreational activities. Ultimately, our goal is to plan a treatment that is tailored to the individual individual needs of your child. We encourage families to be involved in all aspects of care and become an integral part of the treatment team.

Contact the Admissions Intake Coordinator, 513-636-0820 (or 1-866-304-8761 extension 60820), for assistance with all referrals or setting up site tours.
