Discharge planning can be a multi-step task; therefore, it begins the moment your child is admitted. The goal of the treatment team at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is to assure your child's need for a smooth transition to outpatient care is met by the time of discharge and that an appointment is scheduled.
If your child is prescribed medication while in the hospital, he or she will leave with a one-month supply. It is the responsibility of your child's outpatient doctor or primary mental health care provider to manage medications and prescriptions following discharge.
