In preparation for discharge, the Psychiatrist may write an order for a therapeutic leave of absence or pass. Typically, families take their child out of the hospital for up to six hours. If at any time during the pass, you feel you can no longer handle your child's behavior safely, return to the hospital unit immediately. You may call the unit at any time during the pass if you have questions or concerns.
