Physician and Child.The Division of Pulmonary Medicine at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center has a broad expertise that spans the spectrum of pediatric lung disease. Our faculty works in close collaboration with the divisions/departments of Infectious Diseases, Gastroenterology, Otolaryngology, Cancer and Blood Diseases Institute, Neurology and Pediatric Surgery to ensure the provision of comprehensive clinical care to patients and families. U.S. News and World Report ranked the Pulmonary Medicine department 3rd for Respiratory Disorders in America's Best Children's Hospitals for 2009-2010.

Clinical and Research

The Division's faculty is actively involved in clinical research studies to help advance knowledge, treatment and quality care delivery, through the laboratory investigation of cystic fibrosis and other lung diseases. Cincinnati Children's is a 511 bed pediatric hospital and is currently ranked 2nd in NIH research funding for pediatric hospitals. Our Division of Pediatric Pulmonology has 16 clinical faculty members who performed over 1,126 flexible bronchoscopies, over 1,900 sleep studies and over 7,404 pulmonary function tests, from June 2008 to June 2009.
