Radiology and Medical Imaging

Strengths

The Department of Radiology is equipped with five radiographic rooms, three fluoroscopic rooms, two interventional suites for angiography, digital vascular imaging, an ultrasonography section with five sonographic units, a nuclear medicine section with four gamma cameras, 5 MRI units with MR angiography (MRA) and MR spectroscopy (MRS). The division has two high-speed helical CT whole body scanner and offers 24-hour in-house CT coverage.

The department is actively involved in research investigating new applications of imaging in pediatrics, imaging evaluation of urinary tract infection, use of magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy in pediatrics, pediatric vascular interventional techniques, and tumor-specific radiopharmaceuticals. In addition to the 26 clinical faculty radiologists, the Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging includes up to 8 pediatric radiology fellows and several rotating residents from the University of Cincinnati and the Cleveland Clinic.
