Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit

Children requiring inpatient treatment are admitted to the inpatient rehabilitation unit of the Division of Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center to receive intensive services.

The rehabilitation unit at Cincinnati Children's is located in Location A on the fourth floor. The unit is designed to involve families in the rehabilitation process and provide follow-up instruction to community care givers.

The rehabilitation team facilitates the child's re-entry into the home and school and provides follow-up care through outpatient clinics available at Cincinnati Children's. Transition to outpatient therapy needs is also provided. Family support is available through support groups that meet on a regular basis within the medical center.

Outpatient Rehabilitation Services

Outpatient rehabilitation services provide care for a wide range of patients with congenital and acquired conditions resulting in childhood disability, from the severely disabled patient to the fully functional patient with musculoskeletal complaints.

Evaluation of therapy programs and equipment needs are also managed through the outpatient clinic.
