Philosophy of Care / Role As a Parent
The William S. Rowe Division of Rheumatology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital medical Center has a strong history and is internationally known for providing high-quality coordinated care. We believe strongly in the family-centered care philosophy.
At the heart of family-centered care is the belief that health care providers and the family are partners, working together to best meet the needs of the child. When a child has a chronic illness, the entire family is involved.
Our goal is to keep things as normal as possible and to build on the strengths of every family member. As a parent, you can and should take an active role in the care of your child. Parents can be their child's best advocate.
We also have a strong commitment to provide the team approach and continuity of care. This means that your child will be followed by the same doctors and various team members. The health care team will work together with you to offer your child a complete treatment program.
