Education for the Public

When you have questions about your child's health, where do you turn? Who do you most trust for parenting help? Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center wants you to have access to the information you need to be the best parent you can be.

If you are looking for information about your child's health or rheumatic condition, the rheumatology staff of the William S. Rowe Division of Rheumatology can help. Our staff is highly invested in patient education and will listen carefully to your needs and offer personal, comprehensive up-to-date assistance.

The staff will have the most current information in response to your questions related to diagnosis, medical conditions or procedures. If you would like assistance working with your child's school the staff can also provide help in that area.

  • Arthritis Foundation
    Families may call the local Ohio River Valley Chapter at 513-271-4545 or 1-800-383-6843. The Arthritis Foundation will have also have information on various rheumatic diseases as well as a variety of resources.
  • American Juvenile Arthritis Organization (AJAO)
    Families may call the National Office at 1-800-283-7800. The AJAO is a Council of the Arthritis Foundation devoted to serving the special needs of children, teens and young adults with childhood rheumatic diseases and their families.  
  • Family to Family Network
    Families are welcome to contact a parent coordinator at 513-636-9880 (toll free: 1-800-344-2462, ext. 9880). The goal of the Family to Family Network is to link families with various rheumatic diseases in order to provide support and friendship.
  • Family Resource Center
    Families are welcome to call the Family Resource Center, toll free 1-800-344-2462 (Ext. 7606) or 513-636-7606. The Family Resource Center will also have general information about growth and development, parenting issues, childhood health and safety.
