Overview
The William S. Rowe Division of Rheumatology of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is known internationally for its research and clinical care. The division is among the largest and the longest standing pediatric rheumatology divisions in the country.
Research is an essential part of the mission of this division, which is the home of several NIH funded Rheumatology Centers of Excellence, including the Multidisciplinary Clinical Research Center. Basic science, translational and clinical research have all been very productive, and the capacity to expand research efforts has been enhanced by the gradual strengthening of our infrastructure.
The division has basic and translational research laboratories with a focus of genetics and functional genomics and several clinical research groups. The clinical research performed at the division has improved the outcome for children with rheumatic diseases.
The Clinical Trials Unit within the Division of Rheumatology currently serves as the Coordinating Center of the Pediatric Rheumatology Collaborative Study Group (PRCSG), dedicated to performing high-quality clinical research in pediatric rheumatic diseases.
