Rheumatology Portal: Patient Information Online

Explanation About the Rheumatology Portal

As part of our initiative to pursue perfect health care, the Division of Rheumatology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center provides families with online access to important health information about their child. Visit the portal and you can take a tour or log on to the Rheumatology Portal.

The Rheumatology Portal is currently available for JRA patients only.

What is the Purpose of the Rheumatology Portal?

The Rheumatology Portal allows families to have access to accurate, up-to-date medical data. The family can choose to share this information with health care providers to make medical decisions. The Rheumatology Portal, accessible through a password-protected site, provides access to critical information including:

  • Lab reports
  • A complete list of medications (which improves patient safety)
  • X-ray reports
  • Clinic visit dates
  • Hospital admissions

Is It Possible to Email Questions to Health Care Providers?

The Rheumatology Portal also allows each patient (or family member) to submit a non-urgent question electronically to the rheumatology care team; questions and answers can be viewed online. Questions are generally answered within three business days. Families can also notify us of changes in address, phone numbers, insurance, etc., through the portal.

How Secure is the Rheumatology Portal?

All information within the Rheumatology Portal is secure, providing the patient and family with complete privacy. The Rheumatology Portal is accessed through a secure, password-protected web site. Password rules are in place to ensure password confidentiality. Vulnerability assessments are completed nightly. The portal follows the same privacy standards as other Cincinnati Children's clinical electronic records.

How Do I Sign Up for the Rheumatology Portal?

Currently the portal is only available to JRA patients. An authorization form must be completed before access to the Rheumatology Portal is granted. Please print the authorization form (in .pdf format), fill it out completely, and send it to the Division of Rheumatology office via fax or mail.
