Helping StarShine

Fundraising

Hopes and dreams of children are magical. StarShine Hospice patients at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center are no different. They, too, want to live life to the fullest. The role of the pediatric hospice staff is to provide a full array of programs and services to patients and families so that they are able to fulfill their hopes and dreams.

Unfortunately, pediatric hospice care is not recognized by insurance carriers as being unique and comprehensive. Consequently, many needed services go unfunded and are strictly at the expense of StarShine Hospice at Cincinnati Children's. Therefore, major fundraising efforts are necessary for the success of a full-service pediatric hospice.

A permanent endowment has been established for StarShine within Cincinnati Children's to ensure the long-term viability of the program. There are additional fundraising efforts.

Fundraising Board

Under the direction of the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, a fundraising board was developed for StarShine Hospice. This group of volunteers was selected for their diverse business and service expertise to plan and organize fundraising events, solicit corporate support and cultivate major donors.
