Overview
The Center for Simulation and Research at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center utilizes patient simulation and innovative teaching techniques to deliver high quality, customized, state-of-the-art education and training. The Center provides opportunities for healthcare providers throughout the region to improve multi-disciplinary team performance and to safely practice communication and clinical skills without risking the safety of "real" patients.
The scope of the Center has grown from a primary focus of advanced life support courses and task training to the current emphasis on patient safety. The most important work of the Center now concentrates on teamwork and communication training in high risk settings as well as the identification and mitigation of latent safety threats in the clinical environment.
