How to Make an Appointment for Your Child
A physician's referral is requested prior to making an appointment to take advantage of available insurance coverage. Referrals to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center should be faxed to the Department of Speech Pathology at 513-636-3965 and to the appropriate insurance company. To make an appointment at any location, please call 513-636-4341.
Hours of Operation
Monday through Friday, 7 am to 7 pm. Some locations operate limited hours on Saturday.
Do You Know About Your Therapy Coverage?
Many insurance plans cover a portion of speech therapy costs. Families should check with their insurance company regarding benefits and prior authorization requirements before their child's first appointment. Cincinnati Children's is committed to providing services to all children, regardless of the ability to pay. For assistance with insurance preauthorization, please contact our insurance specialist at 513-636-4341. To determine if the patient qualifies for financial assistance, please call Financial Counseling at 513-636-4711.
Attendance
The Department of Speech Pathology at Cincinnati Children's is committed to you and your family. We want all patients to make progress and meet therapy goals. Your child's success is dependent upon prompt and consistent attendance in therapy. A copy of our attendance policy will be given to you by your child's therapist at their initial treatment appointment.
Parking Directions
Speech Pathology services are offered in Location E at Cincinnati Children's Main Campus. To access parking convenient to Location E, please proceed as follows:
- After turning off Burnet Avenue, turn right into the visitor garage.
- To get to Location E, you must first travel down to the lowest level (Level 4) of the garage.
- Proceed to Location E parking (color code green).
- If spaces are not available on Level 4, follow the ramp up to Levels 3 and 2. (If you still cannot find a parking space, proceed out of the garage to the plaza level parking).
- Follow the signs to the elevator.
- Take the elevator to Level 1 and follow the covered walkway into Location E (color code green). You will enter on the 2nd floor.
- Come through the double glass doors
- Bear left
- Follow the hallway past the elevators
- Turn right into the hallway
- The Speech Department Waiting Room is on the left
