Education and Training for Professionals
The Division of Speech Pathology Department at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is actively involved in educating referral sources about various types of communication disorders. By doing so, they become adept at recognizing different disorders and referring patients when appropriate. Therefore, regular lectures are presented to various medical center departments and divisions. Members of the department often present workshops, seminars and papers at local, state, national and international professional meetings.
The Division of Speech Pathology has an active training program for graduate students in communication sciences and disorders. Students come from local universities and national universities for their practicum and internship experiences. Members of the staff also assist in the supervision of graduate students who are doing their thesis or dissertation research.
