Bio

Michael Spigarelli, MD, PhD, attended medical school at University of Michigan Medical School and completed his residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor.

Subsequently, Dr. Spigarelli completed a fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Presently he remains on staff at Cincinnati Children's in the Division of Adolescent Medicine.

Clinically Dr. Spigarelli's interests include eating disorders (anorexia nervosa, bulimia neverosa and related conditions), adolescent and pubertal development, adolescent gynecology, sexually transmitted diseases, preventative medicine and young adult care.

In addition to his clinical interests, Dr. Spigarelli has worked to developed relationships with community organizations and remains actively involved with community health care activities, projects within in the Cincinnati Public School System and other area school districts and private schools and with other community-based organizations.

Over the years, Dr. Spigarelli has been very involved with the Society for Adolescent Medicine, with ongoing commitment to the residents and fellows, helping to coordinate and facilitate development of their careers within the field of adolescent medicine and allied professions.

Dr. Spigarelli serves on the Multidisciplinary Membership Committee within the Society of Adolescent Medicine. He is currently the Fellowship Director in the Division of Adolescent Medicine.
