At Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, the Orthopaedic Surgery Division is concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of the full spectrum of orthopaedic diseases and conditions in children.
The Orthopaedic Surgery Division's mission is to enhance the quality of musculoskeletal health care locally, nationally, and internationally, through the recognition and provision of leadership in the acquisition and dissemination of relevant knowledge, skills and attitudes.
Through the Spinal Deformity Center, the Orthopaedic Surgery Division provides diagnosis and management of congenital and acquired spinal deformities, neuromuscular spinal disorders, and instability problems associated with dwarfism and dysplasias.
The Orthopaedic Surgery Division also offers orthopaedic consultations, provides scoliosis screening for schools, and staffs specialty clinics involving brachial plexus injuries, neurofibromatosis, cerebral palsy, myelomeningocele, juvenile arthritis and bone tumors.
Special expertise is offered in the treatment of limb deficiency by prosthetic conversion, as well as by limb lengthening.
Cincinnati Children's was one of the first centers in the country to perform the internationally known DeBastiani Limb Lengthening procedure. The faculty have now established an international reputation in this area.
