Kimberly A. Kroeger-Geoppinger, PsyD, is an Assistant Professor in Clinical Pediatrics in the Division of Behavioral Medicine and Clinical Psychology at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. In November 2005, Kroeger-Geoppinger joined Cincinnati Children's and The Kelly O'Leary Center (TKOC) to develop early intensive behavioral intervention programs for young children with autism and their families.
Kroeger-Geoppinger came to The Kelly O'Leary Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center for her clinical fellowship year. During her postdoctoral training at TKOC, she assisted in community and in-clinic behavior programming for children demonstrating severe and moderate behavioral issues. In addition, she participated in the Wellness Tutoring Program, a short term skill acquisition program for children with autism, and intensive toilet training.
Kroeger-Geoppinger's pre-doctoral internship training was with the Department of Behavioral Psychology at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. While at the Kennedy Krieger Institute, she participated in clinical rotations specializing in behavioral assessment and treatment for children with developmental disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorders, moderate to severe behavior, and pediatric feeding disorders.
Kroeger-Geoppinger earned her undergraduate degrees in Psychology and English from Clemson University in South Carolina where she first began working with children with autism. Her graduate degree was earned through Xavier University where her dissertation research was funded by the Mentoring and Scholarship Project Chair Award. In addition, her dissertation on social skills programs for young children with autism received the Dissertation of the Year award from the Cincinnati Psychological Association.
Kroeger-Geoppinger is currently pursuing research in systems of delivery for EIBI programming, and social skills and skill acquisition in children with autism spectrum disorders. Kroeger-Geoppinger has presented her work at local, state and national levels.
