Bio

International leader in elucidation of:

  • the diversity, specificity, functions, evolution and nomenclature of several drug-metabolizing enzyme gene superfamilies and their role in metabolism of endogenous substrates as well as of foreign chemicals;
  • mechanisms by which pharmacogenetics and pharmacogenomics determine susceptibility to toxicity, teratogenicity and carcinogenicity by environmental agents including pharmaceuticals.
  • Gene-drug interactions; gene-environment interactions.
