Bio

Dr. Phelan, a board certified general pediatrician, is an experienced injury epidemiologist and residential injury control researcher. He has been active in the fields of injury epidemiology and residential injury control for over 8 years. His experience and success in this field includes multiple grants and publications, as well as the New Investigator Award from the National Center for Injury Prevention, and Control at the CDC and a K23-career development award from the National Institute of Child Health and Development (NICHD) focused on development and evaluation of a pilot intervention to reduce residential injury in children from birth through 36 months of age.
