Bio
Kaaren B. Shebesta, RN, MSN, CPNP, is a trauma nurse practitioner at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. Prior to this position, Kaaren worked in the Cardiac ICU at Cincinnati Children's for four years after working as a nurse in Chicago and Phoenix.
Shebesta's responsibilities include the coordinating and managing the care for traumatically injured children and providing education services for patients and families. She assists in monitoring the PI system for trauma services, including outcomes and system / process issues. Shebesta also provides and coordinates educational opportunities for staff nurses, surgical residents, social workers and child life specialists with regards to trauma, utilizing trauma workshop, trauma case review, trauma inservices and trauma morbidity and mortality.
Shebesta also co-chairs the trauma resuscitation committee and is a member of the trauma psychosocial team.
