Bio
Gaylene Tsipis, M.S., R.Ph., is a registered pharmacist with a bachelor of science degree in Pharmacy from Ohio State University and a master of science degree in Pharmacy Administration from the University of Cincinnati.
Gaylene is co-director of the Cincinnati Drug and Poison Information Center, with primary responsibility for the center's contract services and drug information services areas. In addition, she is certified as a specialist in poison information and substance abuse prevention consultant. She has also had extensive clinical experience in hospital pharmacy.
Gaylene is an adjunct assistant professor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Cincinnati, College of Pharmacy, and serves as a preceptor in the area of drug information for both undergraduate and graduate level students.
Additional teaching experience includes drug information and pharmacology classes for the University of Cincinnati Colleges of Pharmacy, Medicine, and Evening and Continuing Education, as well as precepting students from Creighton and Butler Universities and the Council of Ohio Colleges of Pharmacy.
Gaylene has been involved with the NetWellness™, an Internet consumer health information resource, project since its inception and was instrumental in establishing the initial guidelines for the "Ask an Expert" area, based on years of experience providing consumer medication information via telephone. Gaylene remains an active member of the NetWellness™ Development Group and the NetWellness™ Steering Committee.
