Understanding Your Billing Statements
Depending upon what health care service(s) your child received here, you may receive one or more of billing statements. If you have a question about any of your billing statements, please send us an email (using our secure form) or call us.

Here are examples of statements you may receive from the billing office at Cincinnati Children's.

Home Care Billing Statement
Hospital Verification Form
The hospital verification form is NOT a bill. It shows a summary of hospital charges and the insurance company we billed for the services provided to your child.
Please verify your insurance information to make sure it is correct. If there are any changes, please contact Customer Service.
If you would like a statement of itemized charges or payment details, Customer Service can help you. Or, you may want to try using our secure Online Account Manager / eBill.
Tip: There are different Customer Service phone numbers depending on the type of service provided. Check your billing statement for the appropriate Customer Service phone number to call.
If your insurance company does not pay your bill, please contact them directly. Your statement(s) will show any balance remaining, which may include your co-insurance, deductible or copay, according to your insurance plan. If you do not have insurance, your statement(s) will be sent directly to you.

Hospital Billing Statement
The hospital billing statement shows your account activity for services done in the hospital, which may be summarized on the Hospital Verification Form. Some examples of hospital fees are clinic fees, labs, pharmacy, therapy, etc.

Physician Billing Statement
The physician billing statement shows your account activity and fees for consulting with or receiving services from a specific physician or health care professional.

Anesthesia Billing Statement
The anesthesia billing statement shows your account activity for anesthesia fees if your child received anesthesia. Often, this statement will show the health care professional's charge for providing anesthesia. The anesthesia itself (the drug) will appear on the hospital billing statement.
Anesthesia billing information is not available online at this time.

Home Care Billing Statement
The home care billing statement shows your account activity for home care services, if you received them. Some examples of home care services are durable medical equipment (DME), home nursing visits, etc.
