Cincinnati Children's is Tobacco-Free

To ensure a healthy environment for our patients, families and employees, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center joined with other area hospitals and the Greater Cincinnati Health Council to become a tobacco-free facility.

Statistics show that every year, one in five Americans dies from a smoking-attributable condition. Of those deaths, an estimated 60,000 are a result of exposure to secondhand smoke. In light of these figures and our vision of being the leader in improving child health, we welcome the city-wide initiative to operate tobacco-free.

The tobacco-free policy applies to employees, patients, families, students, visitors, vendors and all persons who enter or have reason to be in or on Cincinnati Children's properties. All Cincinnati Children's employees are required to refrain from tobacco use for their entire work shift and are expected to be free from the smell and evidence of tobacco during their entire work shift.
