International Adoption
The International Adoption Center (IAC) at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is pleased to present Parents Helping Parents, a discussion and support group. This group is moderated by Nancy Kayes. Kayes is a parent of 19 children – three birth children and 16 internationally adopted children who arrived home between the ages of 5 months to almost 14 years-of-age. Join her for a lively discussion of the unique issues presented by parenting internationally adopted children! Nancy experienced her first adoption 29 years ago and has "almost seen it all."
The Parent Support Group will have a topic for each session. We will spend the first part of the time on the topic and then allow time for other questions or concerns that parents might have. This is NOT meant to be a counseling session but a chance for parents to share information and solutions that have been helpful in their own families. Please feel free to bring articles, websites, or other information that you that you have found to be informative as it relates to the monthly topic.
Sessions will be held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 10:00 to 11:30 AM in Room D2.20 of the Sabin Education Center at Cincinnati Children's on Burnet Avenue.
There is no charge to attend and participate, and you are welcome to attend any or all of the sessions. Parking is free of charge in the CCHMC Visitor's Parking Garage with a validated parking ticket, however childcare is not available.
To register for any of the sessions, or to be added to the email list, contact robin.gordon@cchmc.org or 513-636-2877, Option #3.
