Parent Tip: What to Ask After the Operation
The staff at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center recommends that parents and / or caregivers ask the following questions before leaving the hospital with their child:
- Ask what to expect in the first few days after the operation.
- Ask how long you should expect it to take for your child to recover.
- Ask questions about your child's activities, medicine and food at home.
- If you're going home on the day of the operation, make sure you understand the instructions for care at home. Feel free to ask questions or request more instruction.
- Ask who to call in case of emergency or if you have any questions or concerns.
