What is Art with a Heart?

Art with a Heart is a program designed to offer patients and their families staying at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center a day of entertainment and fine dining. Its mission is to create a happy memory for a family whose time, energy and finances have been consumed by a serious medical issue.

Each month a nominated patient and their family will be selected to receive a complimentary gift package that includes:

  • Tickets to an artistic event
  • Dinner for four at a local restaurant
  • A hair cut or "makeover" from a child's hair salon
  • Free transportation for the entire evening

All About Kids parenting magazine will feature a story each month about the child's evening.

What Organizations are Involved?

Art with a Heart is made possible by the generous support of these collaborating organizations:

All About Kids Parenting Magazine

All About Kids is a local, national award-winning magazine that serves as the premier parenting resource in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area. It is a valuable guide for parents, educators and child care providers. Each monthly issue features timely articles on a variety of parenting topics, as well as a comprehensive calendar of family events. Copies are available throughout Cincinnati Children's, as well as various locations in Cincinnati such as Kroger's, the Museum Center and the public library.

The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati

The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati is committed to providing more than just theatre to their patrons. They include dance, visual art, opera, and a variety of musical styles into their repertoire, helping children to understand all aspects of theatre - and expanding their awareness of all of the arts in the community, leading to more opportunities for self-expression and creativity. Their goal is to entertain and delight local audiences through quality, family-friendly arts entertainment at an affordable price, while helping our patrons grow through exposure to theatre and the arts.

Guest Services at Cincinnati Children's

The Guest Services Department at Cincinnati Children's provides information about lodging, transportation and local area attractions to families that travel to Cincinnati for their child's medical care.

Cookie Cutters

At Cookie Cutters, discover how much fun a haircut can be! Kids watch their favorite movie or play a game while they get their haircut, choose from a fun styling chair, have fun on a dinosaur slide while they wait, and get a balloon, sucker, and cookie cutter after your haircut.

Kona Bistro

Kona Bistro takes great pride in providing their guests with healthy and full-flavored food created from the freshest produce, baked goods, seafood and meats available. They never deep fry or hide their food behind heavy sauces or oils, creating a casual dining opportunity for guests to enjoy great good while maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

The Montgomery Inn

The Montgomery Inn is world-famous for its ribs and sauce with a long list of distinguished guests that include Presidents Ford, Reagan, Bush and Clinton, Bob Hope, and Bill Crosby. In addition to ribs, the menu features steak, seafood, duck, pork and chicken and offers a large children's menu. Another Cincinnati favorite is available for dessert, Graeter's ice cream, making the Montgomery Inn a true Cincinnati dining experience.

Dewey's Pizza

Dewey's Pizza is a wonderfully different dining experience. Casual and friendly surroundings combined with sophisticated, surprising tastes. Dewey's pizza is expertly tossed by hand then stone baked to perfection. They use inventive combinations of the finest seasonal ingredients, artfully presented in masterpiece compositions. Enjoy energetic team service in a warm, contemporary environment, and you can even watch your pizza being tossed in their exposed kitchen.
