Dr. Basu arrived at Cincinnati Children's after completing his residency and fellowship training at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago (now the Ann and Robert Lurie Children’s Hospital). The focus of his research is the impact of acute kidney injury on critical illness and is currently the co-director for the Center for Acute Care Nephrology. Locally, Dr. Basu co-directs the critical care fellowship program, leads several hospital committees (including on utilization and value), and lectures frequently to medical students, residents, and fellows. Nationally he serves on the AKI Advisory Group for the American Society of Nephrology, The Fluid Management Task Force for the American Academy of Pediatrics, and on the Pediatric Steering Committee for the Society for Critical Care Medicine.
