Ovarian preservation and the use of minimally invasive techniques in pediatric and adolescent gynecologic surgery; fertility preservation, including ovarian tissue cryopreservation; future ovarian function with pediatric and adolescent cancer treatments; using standardized patient education tools to improve patient experience and clinical success

Dr. Hoefgen is an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Dr. Hoefgen received her medical degree in 2008 from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, Springfield, IL, where she also completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology. She completed her clinical fellowship specializing in pediatric and adolescent gynecology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO in 2014.

In addition to providing general and specialty gynecologic care to girls and young women, Dr. Hoefgen is the lead gynecologist for the Comprehensive Fertility Care & Preservation Program at Cincinnati Children's, focusing on fertility preservation in patients with medical illness or treatments that threatens the function of their ovaries. She is also very involved in the Survivorship Program at the Cancer and Blood Diseases Institute, assisting with the long-term gynecologic needs of cancer survivors.
