Rupi Parikh, MD

I am a pediatric anesthesiologist who works with children to manage their pain. I provide anesthesia care during surgery and pain management after surgery.

My experiences as a high school and college volunteer at Cincinnati Children’s inspired me to become a pediatric doctor. I saw the meaningful relationships formed between doctors, patients and families.

As the director of fetal anesthesia at Cincinnati Children’s, I work with our fetal surgery program to expand pain management and safe anesthesia use for fetal and obstetric patients at Cincinnati Children's.

I invest in both the anesthesia-related care and postoperative care of children. I enjoy collaborating with other specialists to ensure the best care.

I provide a calm and confident presence when it comes to giving anesthesia to a patient. When I help a patient with their pain, I spend extra time with them. We talk about what and where it hurts and the ways we can reduce the pain. This all comes together in terms of taking care of a patient throughout their perioperative stay.

As the associate director of the pediatric anesthesiology fellowship program, I teach my students how to listen to and interact with patients and families to make them feel supported.

I have twice received first place honors for the Young Investigator Award from the Society of Pediatric Anesthesia.

When I’m not working, I enjoy baking, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
