Jacob M. Redel, MD, completed medical school at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He was a resident in Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital from 2011-2014. He then completed a year as chief resident in Pediatrics and as a pediatric hospitalist from 2014-2015. He began his clinical fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology in July 2015. He is serving as chief fellow in the Endocrine Division for the 2017-2018 academic year.
As a clinical fellow, Jacob has presented research at the Cincinnati Children's Thomas F. Boat Lectures and at the American Diabetes Association (ADA) national meeting. At the ADA's 76th Annual Scientific Sessions in New Orleans, LA, he presented the abstract "Brain Gray Matter Volume Changes in Youth with Type 2 Diabetes" at the Presidential Oral Session, and received an award for a top scoring abstract. He presented the abstract "Adolescents with Type 2 Diabetes Demonstrate Reduced Microstructural Integrity in Brain White Matter" as a poster presentation at the ADA's 77th Annual Scientific Sessions in San Diego, CA.
