Participants in the Genetics Education Program for Nurses have several options for their studies:

  • Web Based Genetics Institute: This 18-week course is intended for nurses interested in learning about human genetics and applying their knowledge in clinical, education or research endeavors.
  • Applying Genomics in Nursing: This five-week course is designed for nurses interested in an overview of inheritance patterns, how to collect family medical histories, how to construct pedigrees and how to use pedigrees to improve health.
  • Independent, Self-Paced Modules: We offer four modules, designed for nurses with limited knowledge in genetics, including students in undergraduate and graduate nursing programs and nurses seeking continuing education contact hours.
