Reminder to Sign Your Child Up for Ohio Program That Sends Free Books to Your Home

Thursday, March 19, 2020

With libraries closed due to COVID-19, here’s a reminder to parents to sign up for the Ohio Governor’s Imagination Library (OGIL) in Hamilton County.

Any child from birth to age five can enroll to receive books delivered to their home. After enrollment, children will begin receiving a new book each month, at no cost to their family, until they reach the age of five.

The books range from the classics like The Little Engine That Could, and The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Research has shown that book ownership can be a predictor of future academic success. Studies have found that children with just 25 books in their home were more likely to complete an additional two years of education.
