Lentiviral-based shRNA is far superior to other systems used for the delivery of siRNAs; it achieves greater and more efficient knockdown of protein levels. Lentivirus can readily infect both dividing and non-dividing cells, and the knockdown effect is long-lived, due to stable integration within the host cell genome. The library also includes a selection cassette (puromycin) for drug resistance, allowing the rapid production of a cell line or a uniform cell population for subsequent screening.
The Lenti-shRNA Library was developed using third-generation lentivirus technology, ensuring the highest level of safety in the production of replication-deficient lentiviral particles.
