Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine are recruiting participants for a research study to advance the understanding of the causes of preterm, or premature, birth.
Preterm birth is a major public health problem that has a significant impact on infant health and survival. Evidence supports a possible genetic contribution that leads to premature birth. However, because of interaction among different genes, a clear picture of the genetic contribution to premature birth has not yet emerged.
An improved understanding of these processes would allow clinicians to better understand causes of premature birth and develop treatments that would be most effective for women and their unborn babies. Ultimately, we hope our findings will lead to the prevention of preterm labor.
I want to take a survey to see if I am eligible to participate in the fetal study.
